Introduction

The headmaster of a Secondary School, due to the bad results obtained by the students in English GCSE course, has decided to employ four experts from Oxford University to make the results improve.

What can be done to raise the students’ grades? Which strategies should they use?

The task

You are members of Oxford University. Each of you will be specialised in one aspect of knowledge: planning, monitoring, problem-solving and evaluating. You will use the links to learn about your role in the activity.

Together you will have to agree on ten main strategies that will make the students improve their marks.

For the final project you will create an oral report where you will present the ten points with the students as an audience. You can use any resources to help your presentation

The process

Step 1

Form groups of four students and decide what you will be specialised in.

Step 2

Talk about what you already know about the job you have been assigned

Step 3

Learn a little bit more about your role. Use the resources.
