These
pages aim to be a presentation of a WebQuest model for second language. Such
a model has been developed from the original model of WebQuest designed by Bernie
Dodge in 1995. Bernie
Dodge's model constitutes one of the most efficient pedagogical structure on the
Web. However, it is evident that designing and developing WebQuests for teaching
and learning a second language is more complex than it is when the target is to
teach and learn any other subjects or areas and the students use resources from
the Internet in their first language. Of course using their own language helps
them accomplish the task, whereas dealing with resources in a second or foreign
language implies some obstacles. Being
convinced that the WebQuest can be a useful and efficient strategy in the field
of second language teaching and learning, I have developed a systematization
of those essential and convenient components when designing and putting into practice
a WebQuest in the context second language acquisition. The
documents of the present workshop are part of the PhD: Pérez
Torres, I. 2006. Diseño de Webquests para la Enseñanza/Aprendizaje
del Inglés como Lengua Extranjera: Aplicaciones en la Adquisición
de Vocabulario y la Destreza Lectora. Granada: Editorial Universidad de Granada.
