problems to publish your comments

Hi!
You problably have noticed that it has been impossible to publish your comments in the blog lately. I've moved my web to another server and that caused the problems.
Now it's working again, and you can add your comments to the last reading.

(Ha habido problemas con la publicación pero ya funciona de nuevo, así que espero que podáis añadir los comentarios antes de volver a clase)

Your Brain & Music

I know you are all healthy, bright students and you want the best for your body and mind. At the same time, most of you like music a lot. So, my proposal this week is also double.

First I want you to read about how you can protect and take care of your "brain" and also about the benefits of music in your brain.

Second, I've got another musical proposal: this BBC page where you can find all sort of information about any kind of music and artists.

Enjoy the weekend and tell me what you read and learnt.

AIDS

Hi again,

we've got a long weekend ahead and I thouhgt that a good reading at this time would be any texts that give you information about AIDS. You may think that "it won't happen to you!", but many of the people infected by the HIV never thought of catching the virus. So be aware of the risks and protect yourself.

Read the following page titled "HIV and AIDS: Are You at Risk?" .
After reading it, go to this page and do some quizzes about AIDS.

You can also read, listen or watch a video if you visit some other links in this page.

Then post your comments. Tell me what you have read or done and if you have learnt something.
After reading the text try to complete this quiz correctly without looking at the text again.

Sur in English

This week reading is a newspaper article. You are going to visit the site of the newspaper “SUR” in English. http://www.surinenglish.com/index.php
Have a quick look at the different sections of the paper and then choose one or two articles to read. Did you know about this newspaper? Have you read this news in Spanish before? Tell us about the story/stories that you read and add any comments that they may suggest you. Tell us some of the words that you need to look up in the dictionary. How long have you been reading? Why did you select that story?

See you on Monday,
isabel

Starting out

Hi all!

this blog is going to be a new teaching and learning experience. We're going to read on the Internet and observe how we read and how we can improve our electronic reading.
The first thing you have to do is to complete the following questionnaire http://www.zoomerang.com/survey.zgi?p=WEB223UVZ6P5XG. This will help evaluate your computer skills and know how you use the Internet.
Go ahead, read the questions and, when you are sure about your answers complete and submit the questionnaire.
